So over the past week I've invested about 40 bucks to buy panaflos, and an SLK-800 to make my computer much more quieter. I replaced my PSU fan, my case fan, and my CPU fan and now it runs pretty quietly... with the exception of my GPU fan on my Radeon 8500LE. For some reason it has become the loudest fan...

And now I want rid of it for something quieter... but cost effective. Anybody know of anything that might help? I thought about just removing the fan... but didn't think that was such a good idea :p.

slice a hole in the side of the case above the vid card and mount a big fan. disconnect the fan on the radeon. that or get a huge zalman heatsink.

Zalman NB-32j and get any 80-90mm fan hanging near it and put it at 5v.
<- currently using a Top Motor 92mm @5v to cool GF4 Ti 4200

Just went through the same with my 7500. Took off the HS and fan and used thermal adhesive to mount a huge passive heatsink from a northbridge. Haven't tested yet though.

Acts837,

Let me know how that works. I also have a AIW 7500 and that fan is definitely the loudest in my whole case (followed by the KT333 chipset fan). If a good heatsink can do the job just fine, I am all for that solution.
