I hate mmorpg expansions. They usually ignore the casual player can give the capped players everything they want. What is the reason for increasing the level cap? I can't even reach 60 much less 70. Adding to the xp grind does nothing in the long term since most level 60s will reach level 70 in no time. I know it's an easier fix than adding in a ton of new content to keep people busy over the long term as opposed to saying 70 is the new level cap.

Yes, yes I know. Go play Guild Wars or move to a PvE server are my two options now. :p

All I can say is I'm SOOO glad I didn't waste my life grinding the level 60 instances. My GF would have so dumped me, and I would now be sitting here say "WHY OH WHY DID I DO THAT!".

Only time will tell, but seriously, I don't think this will be that great for the game for a while. Mostly the level 70 cap. Bliz is going to have to release a LOT of new uber instances for those level 70 players. It will be really interesting to see how it effects MC, BWL, ZG, Onyxia, etc.

I also forsee serious queues as everyone trys to roll as a blood elf and we have the same problems that occured when the game first released. About a zillion people in the start zone, server crashs, etc.

Yeah this all sounds good... but knowing that I essentially have wasted my time farming for endgame gear in MC and BWL kind of sucks.

I figured they were going to raise the cap eventually, and it sounds like it's going to be fun... but it's just more of a time sink in the end. I guess that's what all of the current MMORPGS boil down to eventually anyway.

I heard a rumor that it was originally going to be Pandaren, but because the panda are so protected in China, Blizzard had to change it at the last minute, hense why only the new Horde race is being exhibited.

That sounded fake, but the article in Computer Gaming World said that the new alliance race had to be changed at the last minute, so maybe that IS true.

That would make sense, it sucks, but makes sense.

I'd kill to have a Pandaren Warrior.

One of the coolest ideas is the existence of the server-wide quests to open the gates in southern Silithus. Basically, everyone on the server can contriubute to the cause, and after all the requirements are met, including an uber-raid, then the gates can be opened for good on that particular server.

This seem to adress some of the issues people have here with no "world-wide consequences" for their actions, etc.

edit: Here are some magazing scans about the expansion.

See, I was smart, I got married before WoW came into my life... :)

Did you even *read* about the expansion? There is approximately 18.6 metric assloads of new content in the expansion, including some for those under level 60.

Turning out masssive amounts of new content for low-level players is utterly pointless, and would be a horrible business decision on any company's part.

Waste of time either way.

I wonder if you can ding 61 by turning in 20 completed quests from your log, hah.

And it wasn't hard to reach 60. I'm wondering what the difference is between the level 60 player with blue gear going into the expansion vs the level 60 with all epics. Like what happens to the guy who quit and has no guild. Probably a pain to really get back in the new endgame content.

I can't understand why people don't want the level cap raised. So what if you haven't reached level 60 so far. So what if it'll take even longer to go from 60 to 70 than from 50 to 60. So what if your Epic gear is outclassed by new level 60-70 rare gear. There will be loads of new content. If you play the game to have the most money and the best equipment, you're playing the wrong game. This new content should give you a reason to KEEP playing... not be a reason for you to give up.

How are they going to balance the talent trees and classes with the level cap now 70? Reading over some of these things, i believe that they may very well make the game worse. Socketing was about the same as enchanting in Diablo, so we now have 2 echanting prof?

Blizzard should fix the current game before making an expansion pack to worry about.
