sweeeeet! I have been checking our computer dept. website as well, and they have updated with the new specs (but no distinct model #s yet).......but the price difference between us and Clemson or NYU is ridiculous! I am probably gonna get the T42 or so, but I want to see if they will reduce their price to match the other schools.

crimey. :(
I have a couple more days until my 30 days is up on my new T41 for returning it. Should I? It was $1500 but pre-Dothan, and I'm afraid that none of the new ones will be under $2k maybe $2.5K for us non-univ folks.

To Aphex: It's your preference, but I think you should hold out, since you havent bought a laptop yet anyway...Perhaps a friend could let you borrow his for a while? :)

And stingygrrl, I think you should keep yours. The prices will probably be over 2000 for non students, and the current thinkpads will probably have the same price for 1 or even 2 months. (prices dont drop that fast at IBM)

I love Penn State... T42 here I come. I might hold out until Xmas of next year though as I really don't need it ASAP. Might wait for prices to fall. They finally addressed the videocard it looks like... 128mb r9600 w/ 1gig of ram and 1.8Pm... hehehehe... i can't wait! New 15" 1600x1200 screan should be amazing too!
