People like Ann Coulter, Tucker Carlson, Michael Moore, Bill O'Reilly, etc, etc, etc rely more on the people who oppose them to keep them in the news than those that agree with them.

What would make a more satisfying outcome? Attacking Ann Coulter on a campus either verbally or physically or her speaking in a large auditotium only about 1/4 full?

If you don't want her or others like her to be relevant then people like you need to stop making her relevant.

Dear god, shut up, southpark is a cartoon and when they throw those words around, they're trying to make a point intellectually speaking. Coulter is an attention whore who does this kind of crap in order to 'shock' everyone and boost her book sales and appearance fees and she does it in totally innapropriate venues. I'm sure a lot of the attendies at CPAC really 'appreciated' how she singlehandedly made their event look like a elementary school playground rather than a forum for serious conservative intellectual debate.

Edit: Even MICHELLE MALKIN (aka, the ann coulter wannabe) of all people, called her out on that.

yeh, it sounds like you don't know why she said it, and i'm not defending her, but she said it as a joke (just like South Park characters say it).

she said something about having to go into rehab if she said the word lovely human which was parodying some prime time television drama series where a character actually went into rehab for saying the word. yeh, she then mentioned John Edwards, but like I said, it's not like it's not done on South Park just the same and you don't hear of anyone wanting the SP writers head on a platter over it.

:disgust: which is why conservative bloggers and politicians who attended CPAC denoucned her right afterwards. She's the antithesis of intelligent discourse. If i wanted to get my anti-PC rage on, i'd watch southpark or something. She makes the conservative movement look idiotic and more and more conservatives are finally realizing this point.

Some Conservatives are denouncing her because some people do take her literally, and think she represents the Conservative Party. I don't think she's representing the party well, I'll give you that. But as a fellow Conservative, I like her personally. I don't think she should be the GOP spokesperson. She's kind of the South Park of pundits. She says many things I agree with, and says them as I would. I like her for that.

Doesn't matter who it was directed at. When I was a kid, I accidently said the "F" word (as you put it) around some gay friend's of my mother. Now, I didn't know what it meant, just that it was a bad word (I was angry at the time...). Oh boy did I get in some trouble for that one. Apparently they were quite offended. Now, I know my experience is anecdotal, but think about it for a minute. Whether or not someone should be offended by someone using biggoted speach is one thing, but did Coulter have to say that word? Did it offer ANYTHING intelligent or funny? The answer is no. She has no problem offending people for personal gain. It is her right to do so, but I find it completely base. Why should someone who is willing to stoop to such lows worthy of any intelligent person's time or money?
