Now I don't know what happened before and why the biker kicked the SUV but I can tell you that if you kicked my car out of the blue, prepare to suffer the consequences. This biker could have been killed yet he would not back off.

From this video alone I think both drivers were WAY out of line and could serve some jail time.

She probably cut him off and he didn't like it. However I would have made sure to hit him a little harder than that, probably enough for manslaughter charges.

looks like she cut him off--tried to pin him into the other car.

I'm pretty much with the biker on this. (assuming that is the case)

Look at the very first few frames of the video. The SUV was in the proper lane and the bike started up between the two lanes and cars. Bike is totally wrong.

I know that this was an incident involving a "motor" bike, but I still subscribe to:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lane_splitting

Lane splitting by motorcycles is generally legal in Europe, and in Japan and several other countries, and is illegal in many U.S. states, but is considered lawful in California (see list below).

The legal restrictions on lane splitting for bicyclists can be the same, such as in California.[7] In some jurisdictions, such as Nebraska, lane-splitting is prohibited specifically, and only, for motorcyclists.[8]

I couldn't find out which states count under the "many" but it's definitely not everywhere. But in the case of the video (Brazil?) it's legal according to wiki.

Did you see what she did to him before he kicked? She deliberately pushed him with her SUV because she didn't like the fact that he was lane-splitting.

Lane-splitting is perfectly normal in some places...even some places in the USA.

That there was someone attempting to use their vehicle as a deadly weapon & should be brought up on charges. Since everything was caught on tape, it shouldn't be hard to convict.

If someone did that to me while I was on the bike, there would be severe consequences to pay & I'd press to the extent of the law. If someone did that here in CA & everything was caught on tape, I would think it would be a slam dunk. That person needs to have their license yanked for a good 2 - 3 years, at least.

We don't need people like that sharing the road with us.

Lane splitting is legal here in CA & I do it regularly. There's nothing wrong with it. Even where it is illegal, you still don't use your vehicle as a weapon...Period.

The driver was 100% in the wrong & should pay a price for it.

What's really funny is that now her stupid fucking SUV is all smashed up.

I'll tell you this, you really don't want to start shit with a guy wearing leathers, a full face helmet, and gloves with carbon fiber or titanium reinforced knuckles.

Looks like the motorcyclist was trying to "Ghetto Stomp" her SUV, use of lethal force automatically justified.

No it isn't... California as usual is the exception.

United States

California has no laws explicitly prohibiting lane splitting, and is the only U.S. state for which official statements state that lane splitting, when done safely, is legal.

California is not the only state for which there is no traffic law that explicitly prohibits lane splitting, but officials rely on other laws to regularly interpret lane splitting as unlawful. For example, New Mexico does not address lane splitting by name, but has language requiring turn signals be used continuously for at least 100 ft (30 m) before changing lanes, as well as other codes which may be cited by an officer. Many other states have identical codes, derived from the Uniform Vehicle Code.

Does the video show the driver?

He kicks your cage, you respond by trying to run him over with your 2 ton mass of steel, then try to crush him...

Edit: Wow on the comments from the video and even OP. Property damage inot trying to get into your car and harm the person) is now worth taking someone's life over...
