Run cold water on the inside of your wrists (where the veins are close to the skin) and you'll cool off a bit.

Maybe this will make everyone start really looking at global warming... Much good that will do now. Everything screwed as it is, but we just continually make it worse.

This happens every summer. Why do people act so surprised and angry when it gets hot every year?

Beecause the average person is basically an ape that is capable of following orders...most of the time.

its so hot. I know you guys are gonna tell me to stop b!tching because its 91F in san jose, and its probably 100+ somewhere else. But its hot nonetheless. Im seriously considering just driving to the library, where there is AC and just play my nintendo ds.

for those of you with no AC, what are some things you do to deal with the heat? Wrap a cold towel around your neck? I heard some people say something about spraying alcohol+water in the air for evaporative cooling?

turn on the a/c.

goto starbucks, and sit there till sunset

91 degrees in a NON-AIRCONDITIONING area is definitely hot when you're not used to it, so the people in sacramento and AZ can stfu, y'all have a/c's you sissys. ;)

First of all get a box fan if there are any left on the shelves etc. Secondly drink lots of water. Lastly, pray for very low humidity. ;)

I grew up in warmer climates. Also working in warmer conditions and sweating like a pig helps, your house seems much cooler after.

At least down there it's dry. Not quite as hot in the NW, but I'd trade a slight temperature increase for a 25-30% drop in humidity.

I have a naturally occuring AC at my work space. My desk faces west, where the sea breeze comes in. I open my window (lift) about 7 inches and the wind just blows in non-stop. It's super sweet.

it was 95 here the other day... and thats North east england by the bastard north sea!

it has been too hot, and since we arent used to weather this hot, AC isnt a standard feature in alot of cars/offices. where i work our offices are like big static caravans nailed together, theyre like mini green houses!

we've even had roads melt and what not.

i dont mind it being hot, so long as you can get out of it when you want. but since this is england theres just no escape. out side is hot, in the car is hot, the office is hot, every wheres bloody hot!

sweating like rapists today trying to fix up the Roller straightnin machine

I'll have you know that the AC in my car has been broken since springtime, so I complain all the damn time.

I don't have a problem with complaining, I'm known as one of the complainers in my office, but to where you're actually getting angry? STFU and buy an AC, or whatever it is you need to do to cool down.

You could also read one of those "book" things I've heard about.

if you don't have AC open up your fridge and stick you head in

then gather all the ice in your fridge including cold soda cans (or bottles), dump it on the tub fill it with cold water then lie there till it all the ice melts :thumbsup

Crybaby! Weve just finished our tenth day in a row in DFW over 100. One day was 107. Today was 104. With a nice hot south wind to boot!

We are also at about 1/3 annual rainfall and 20 inches short over last 24 months!

However, we are used to the heat and most places are kept ice cold...like my house. I also park in the shade as much as possible.

Adaptation > bitching.
