Angry IP scanner crashes when run

Steve

Angry IP is a tool that scans a specified range of IP addresses and returns a list of info like ping time, host name, MAC address, etc. It's a standalone executable, no installation involved.

It used to work for me on my work PC (Windows 2000), but lately it crashes (its window blips out of existence) when returning the scanned data. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Haven't tried that yet, but thanks for the suggestion. I should also add that I've tried older versions, a newer version in alpha that doesn't return any info, and my boss's copy. No luck so far.

This works better than AngryIP, as it gets past the XP SP2 firewall to report more computers on the network.

In the last few months I've had some anti virus programs report AngryIP as a hacker tool. Is it possible that your AV is causing the problem?

I disabled AntiVir and now it at least gives me the "ipscan.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created."

noob moment: Where do I find that log? 😱

On another note, I have ContentWatch installed on my PC (for testing) and I think it might be restricting this application.

Looks like it isn't ContentWatch doing it. I tested it on one computer with CW, and one without and they both work fine. And I found drwtsn32.log - what can I do with it?
