GO ANGELS! glaus hit 3 homers to sweep the lowly Ranger$ w/ $$$$ $$$$$$$$$ (Alex Rodriguez)

but then, now the question, do they try to beat Yanks for best record in AL so they hit the A's in the 1st round? Or "try" to lose to get 2nd and get the Twins.. hm..

Don't count your chickens before the eggs hatch oh Fan of the Winged Wonders! They satill have to play 4 up in Oaktown . That said, being a fan of the A's,I must say that the Angels impress the hell out of me...more so than the Yankees. If the A's don't take it all I will be rooting for the Angels.

That's because most of the other teams (actually all) in their division suck hind tit. The Braves will choke like Monica Lewinsky sucking on an El Presidente when they falter in the Playoffs.

The Braves play a equal number of games with teams in their division as they do with other divisions. They even have one of the best, if not the best, winnings %'s in interleague play.
So if please get you numbers correct. They play every team about the same amount as any other in the National league.

Braves Rule!!!!!

Yeah they rule the minds of those who love a bunch of also rans destined to let their fans down one last time before they fade into the trivia books as the Buffalo Bill of Major League Base Ball.

I have been a Braves fan since I can remember. I am still a Dale Murphy fan. And if you know who he is then you must also be a TRUE Braves fan.

11 straight Division flags is nothing to laugh at. And they didn't go out and BUY all their talent (see yankees). Most of their talent came up or they traded for them when they were young. But they may lose some after this season, Glavine and Maddux are both up. I hope they are not money grubbers, and chose to take a little less and stay with Atlanta. Yea I know, a ball player that will take less to stay, long shot but you never know.

And Oakland has all their Pitcher signed up fpor the near future plus they have more great pitchers in their farm system. On top of that the new revenue sharing is going to enable them to keep stars like Chavez and Tejeda plus go out and get top line free agents.

No matter what, they won't play the A's in the first round of the playoffs. If the team with the best record in the league is in the same division as the wild card, they play the division winner with the worst record in the league(i.e. the Twins) instead of the wild card. In other words, the winners of the AL west will almost certainly play the Twins, no matter what.

Damn yankees! Gotta think something when Oakland has a payroll that's less than 1/3 that of New York.

ESPN Salaries Link

...okay here's oakland's salary link.

Wow look at the Yankees payroll at $125,928,583 and the Devil Rays at $34,380,000. :Q
