I watched him a lot over the years and always enjoyed his editorials. Sad to see him go.

(CBS News) Andy Rooney, the "60 Minutes" commentator known to generations for his wry, humorous and contentious television essays - a unique genre he is credited with inventing - died today. He was 92 and had homes in New York City, Rensseleaerville, N.Y. and Rowayton, Conn.
Rooney had announced on Oct. 2, 2011 in his 1097th essay for "60 Minutes" that he would no longer appear regularly.

Darn, just watched his last appearance in 60 minutes 4 weeks ago. I wonder if he knew he was dying or not working made him sick.:'(

"You know what I hate? Surgery that doesn't work..."

I'll miss the decades of you telling us what you hate. RIP Andy.

RIP

But you gotta admit toward the end his 60 minutes appearances were "Grumpy Old Man" style.

I just woke up and saw this. This is very sad. I grew up enjoying his commentary.

I never met him but his son's family are our neighbors and his granddaughter babysits for us. I will have to figure out the proper time to walk over and give our condolences.

RIP. He made complaining, whining and ranting an art form, and I say that with respect. :p

R.I.P. Andy...and thanks.

When he announced his retirement, I suspected that he was sick and wasn't going to be around much longer.

RIP

You say "Grumpy Old Man" like it's a bad thing.

RIP. While I did enjoy his segments on 60 Minutes, he definitely was the quintessential 'get off my lawn' old fart

"What's with all this 'Tweetspacing' about my death? What ever happened to the good ol' eulogy?"

At weddings, old folks poke me and say "You're next". At funerals, I do the same to them.

Not if they keep using cell phones :^P

Cell phones are the devil.
I want rip them from these teenage kids' hands and toss them into the sea.
Then I realize when they get home they will need another ship to deliver their bill! Checkmate! :awe:
