andruw just hit a solo hr in the 9th to win the game and take the lead in the majors at 23. he has hit 11 homers in the past 14 games, now thats on fire.

Good for Andruw. Finally realizing his big time potential.

he's always had a good bat it's just never been consistant.

Being a diehard fan, all I can say is: Its about damn time! He really is showing a leadership quality that I thought he sorely lacked. Now granted, he is all of what, 28 years old? He just seemed to do whatever he wanted at the plate, swinging at those damn down and out pitches. Drove me damn near crazy.I heard that in the offseason Chipper and John Smoltz visited him at his home and laid it out to him that now was the time for him to step up. He came to spring training with a new stance that took him about 45 games to get used to(think Albert Pujols' stance). Now he covers so much more of the plate and is so damn selective at what he swings at . Amazing what listening to Terry Pendleton will do.

All of these injuries to the Braves and the coming of age for the rookies spells grief for years to come for the NL East. I think they are a blessing in disguise. But then again, the Braves tend to draft very good players with more potential than most.

Peace

one more today, make that 12 homers in 15 games

I still remember saving up a couple of months worth of allowance to get a signed, minor league card of his. This was at least 10 years ago.

He has had hot streaks before, but never sustained for this long. And the Braves need it with all those rookies & players on the DL... he's stepping up. But it's just averaging out from his horrible streak at the beginning of the season.

Bad Streak: .159 avg 3 hr's 10 RBI 10 BB's 32 K's 144 AB's

Good Streak: .414 avg 21 hr's 44 RBI 16 BB's 22 K's 128 AB's
