This looks pretty cool. Could you use this app the same way on a high end chromebook?

I would imagine that this shell of a PC, basically just a keyboard and a LCD panel with rom... that interfaces into a smartphone to mirror the screen...

Dream would be a 4K screen that is say at least 17", highend backlit keyboard with large keys, a 512Gig SSD to store all your stuff. some decent speakers for sound. 20 hour battery life... Super thin...and lightweight. I'd gladly pay 5-700 bucks...

Nice knowing you Intel and Microsoft! Bye Bye!!!

Trading one master for another? Not hardly... We need new innovations, new hardware and firmware. I don't need a stupid windows 10 machine or an Intel CPU that sucks down 15watts of power just to run it.

Well, Duh! It has to be proprietary, it's brand new and state of the art.... It has to be proprietary, because it has to interface with the proprietary hardware. If you're going to be first out with the idea, this is the first step.

For me, I'm holding out for the upgraded unit that will come out later. Or, if the 99 machine gets really good review, I may just buy into it, They already have upgrades to this with backlit keyboard.

For someone to say this is a great idea, do you really think so?

Last year Intel laid off thousands, Microsoft did too, now this year it's the same routine... Same outlook, just read MS plans on laying off even more. Handwriting is on the wall. It's technology like this that will be the death knell.

It doesn't have to be proprietary at all. It's a simple concept, and puzzling why no one's done it so far. I have debian on my phone right now. All I need is something to output to, and more stability would be nice; though that might be do to my lack of understanding of what's going on under the hood.

I'll do some reading later. I have zero interest in running their software stack, but if I can get their hardware to work with my software, I may bite.
