Rim really dropped the ball. I had a friend who is a die hard BB user who just got a droidx and she loves it. I'm sure there are many converts. The new torch is a 2008 phone releases in 2010.

But at least they're in the 21st century now rather than the 20th century with all their other phones. Still though, there are still many die-hard BB fans to keep them alive.

I have an Android phone and love it. I despise Apple and the iPhone. That said, I'll believe it when I see it when Android overtakes Apple.

According to that chart they already have....

Android surpassed Apple in number of new devices sold every day/week/month some time ago. What this is talking about is number of devices out in the wild total, Apple still has more right now.

We all know Android will do well but I don't see how they can predict the market share of MS when Window 7 is not even out yet.

I don't understand how anyone hates a company/brand...well if it's an insurance company, credit card, or cable company I can understand. To each his own.

Maybe they don't like the way a company operates or treats it's customers by saying they're wrong.

the mobile apps out there for things like dropbox... they don't even make a WinMo version. :( I am keeping this WinMo till VZW 4G arrives... then onto Android.

LOL, MS better give a hell of a lot of phones away.

Seriously, there's not a lot of confidence in their product. They have a bad rep from the uninformed consumer and from the informed ones like us, the stuff we've read about it doesn't make us that enthusiastic.

There's a few people on this board that are excited for WP7. Some of the hardware in the prototype devices looks good, but the OS seems to be antiquated before its even released.

and juding from their recent mobile releases *coughkincough*, its hard to get excited about anything mobile related coming from MS.

I don't think the MS figure was too interesting, the Symbian one was though. I see even more Seppuku in Nokia's future

Kin was only partially a Microsoft product though - it was the next release from Danger, the company that makes Sidekick, whom they acquired. Different division from Windows Phone.

Gartner has been pimping Apple for some time, interesting that they used the "release a bit of info on Friday so everyone forgets about it over the weekend" method... :D
