My old led tv has died, and I'm interested to buy android tv.
I realize different size tv has different native resolution like HD, Full HD, or 4K. I understand higher resolution will make graphics/video sharper, but how this actually makes difference during browsing or youtube-ing displaying text / thumbnails ?
In computer display, higher resolution means more workspace (more texts or thumbnails at the same time).
in mobile phone, higher resolution only makes things sharper, but the same amount of work space.
How is it in android tv ?

The latter (it is essentially the same OS as phones). In reality, the same is true even for computer displays when you get down to it. A higher resolution display using the same screen dimensions is only giving you more "workspace" if your eyes can still comprehend the text/graphics/items staying at the original, lower resolution. If however, you use the increased resolution to place higher resolution fonts/graphics/items on display, you don't have any additional space, you simply have sharper display...

imo there is no reason not to buy a 4k tv. I personally would never plug internet straight into my tv and instead use octacore android tv boxes connected to hdmi. (really a million more features / speed) But who knows maybe the android tv built in has got way better then in the past. I just dont trust anything built in to the tv to not spy on you and to be fast. So what tv's are you looking at? rtings.com has a good review section with speed of android tv app as well. i recommend nu8000 or better. 55"-82"

Go to a local B&M store to check out some android 4K TVs and the settings available to change font and graphic element size. Without any changes to font and graphic element size, then everything will just look sharper (or blurrier except the edges, depending on how you define sharpness). I mean with the TV's separate sharpening filter turned off as it should be.

Thank you for the reply. I haven't decided which one I bought, but I think I got the information I need.
