Android to natively support FLAC, still won't read FLAC tags

Ok, I don't *know* this won't happen, but given how many revisions we're into without the media scanner properly reading tags from any audio file that's not a mp3, I'd actually be surprised if they *did* fix the bug.

I wish somebody could have embarrassed the devs during yesterday's open Q&A with this issue.

embarassed the developers who work for Google? Every product they have put out is basically still in beta. I think things they release missing crap is par for the course. I guess that's why geeks like Android so much, it really feels like a Source Forge project when you use it.

FLAC support isn't that important to me. All my music is in Apple lossless anyway, from way back when I had an iPod and it couldn't play FLAC either.

It's because no one who isn't an idiot uses FLAC on their PMP.

Hell, not even Windows natively reads FLAC tags.
