android software dev pays less than software engineering?

I'm finally writing some android apps and looked at the pay on indeed. very low. multiple clowns wanting "android developer" for $20k/year.

seriously?

Not having looked into it a whole lot...

1. Software development in general can be outsourced. $20k/year is a lot in many Asian countries.
2. I hear that the Android ecosystem really doesn't pay well, in terms of app store purchases. Apple's iTunes store pays a lot better. Probably because all the people who get an iDevice are conspicuously consuming when they buy it.

if you are a good developer, you will make good money no matter what language you are working in.

"android software dev" is a subset of "software dev/engineering".

using indeed salary as scripture is a bad idea too.

LOL. I made more than 30k a year as a Desktop Support Technician intern.
As a fulltime software developer why would I be expected to make less?

Well higher pay is reserved for those with about 15 years of Android Development Experience.

Jeez that is pathetic.

I hope they get the *Bleep*iest of software. Hopefully there aren't a whole lot of good devs desperate enough to take those jobs.
