android photo question

It seems my nexus is sending the videos or pictures and not storing them locally and recalling them via internet when I want to see them.

Is it possible to get it to keep local copies and cloud copies?

It should be keeping them locally as well.

Look in the DCIM folder with a file explorer

I'd you are using the Google Photos app click on the settings menu then "on device" to access the local copies.

yeah I know how to access them via the on device, but only a handful are there. I assume I should not have to look into my DCIM folder, where else would they be?!

Is there a way to download them all/sync to my device? Also curious if I ever had to restore.
