What's the best free or cheap (ie. $20 a year or less) parental control software for an Android tablet (Polaroid PTAB7XC) running ICS? It's for someone who really wants to limit their child. I was originally thinking just a simple whitelist, but having tried that in Windows in the past, it was a nightmare websites often use other websites to work (probably explaining this right). So the website category blocking that most seem to use is fine if it also allows blacklisting a particular URL and blocking certain search words. I looked up Net Nanny, but like most Android market reviews, they're all over the place.

Try Kids Place parental control app and add K9 browser app to Kids Place.
Kids Place will block home button and everything else on your device and K9 will block internet content.

Both the apps are free and without any ads and work great for us.
Hope this helps
Susan!

We have been using Mobicip in our home. We are an iPod, iPhone, iPad, Android, and PC home, so we needed a solution that works well on all of them. Their safe browser app for Android includes a feature to lock the default browser, Google Play store, and any other app you wish to lock. So you don't need another app to do that.
