Is it possible to run Android 4 on a VM? I have been checking androids pages and could not find out how to optain the operating system.

I think you can run a virtualization in the sdk, but I haven't fooled with that in a couple years, and can't quite remember.

Thanks. The first link you shared was great. Got the system installed and runned for a while. I think i'ts only useful to see what is like.

The Android Development Kit is the way that developers do it. It comes with the ability to start a virtualised android device of a particular type and setup on the desktop and then debug apps created on it and such. Depends on your needs whether the Virtualbox way is what you wanted or whether you are trying to develop apps or see how a website looks/works etc.
