Android music app that doesn't suck?

I'm finding android's default music app pretty lame and tried CUBE, along with a few others.... All that I've tried have one annoying problem or another (from Cube queing songs instead of just playing them, to not being able to just jump from the play screen to a list of artists) - is there anything out there that doesn't look like a windows 3.1 app or have a navigation that's simple to the iPod/iTunes layout?

Good question, I'd like one that allows me to change songs without unlocking the screen too...

latest cyanogenmod supports a long-press of the volume button to skip forward/back...but that's only in the stock music app afaik.
 
I like cubed myself, but have you tried Mixzing? It's either that or Mixing.

I'm not sure if you'll find anything that will let you switch songs without unlocking the screen though.

I suppose it would be cool if you had the option to use the volume button as either volume or to change tracks.

edit: Latest update to cubed lets you switch between album and artist view.

Is there a unified place/FAQ about this Cyanogen mod. Like a step by step install in one place, a pros/and cons of using it, and the files necessary. ()🙂

Ditto. Using a droid and OS 2.1 - what real benefits does it offer for an end user, someone who doesn't like to tinker with a shell/installing source code and wants a stable device - does the increase in easily usable functionality made it worth while? I love my phone and would only like to spruce up the looks a bit, core android feels a little old school to me. Heck, Sense UI looks moderns and fresh even though I usually dislike skins
