I cannot get anything transferred from my LG V10 phone to the below listed Win 10 PC.

The phone is not shown in 'My PC' devices... I have it cable connected to my Anker USB hub.

Specific steps or link... thanks.

I'd try connecting directly to the PC, and possibly a new or different cable, all that assuming you're telling the phone to share media and not just charge.

There should be a permanent notification that allows you to change the USB modes when connected to a PC.

there is an issue with windows 10 where it randomly wont recognize phones. makes the sound like its connected but it never shows up. just google it, fix normally involves reinstalling ADB drivers and some such

FWIW i could not fix it on my own PC for my Pixel, works on every other PC in the house but not the main one

When you connect the phone to the PC, do you see a pop up screen on your phone asking for your permission?

Also, try connecting the phone to a different PC and see what happens. If the phone is recognized on different PCs then you know it is your PC that needs troubleshooting. My guess is USB drivers are a culprit.

I seem to recall having to change the mode the phone defaulted to. Also, I have to unlock the phone (it does at least show up, but can't access it til I unlock).

Finally... Connected the LG V10 directly to a USB on the comp, rather than to my Anker hub... worked. So I was able to transfer my phone pics to my desktop computer.

Issue now... the transferred pics do NOT look nearly as good as the originals on my phone. Are there settings adjustments I need to do so that the quality is the same on both? ... Start the process again, but with different settings adjustments?

Also, how 'bout getting my music to my comp? Not working...

I'm sure you can tell I have no idea what the heck I'm doing.

Make sure you're importing the pictures from the camera and not the thumbnails, after that I don't know what to tell you.

Yah if you are simply doing a copy/paste in Explorer, your computer should not care what files you are moving around. Pictures might not look good on a large screen if the originals were not of high quality. If you really want to make sure they are the same file, you can always right-click on a file and check "Properties" on a PC and compare that with the file details as read by your phone.
