Can't stand these mindless games on Android. I am talking about cut the rope, angry birds, etc... There has to be SOMETHING decent on the gaming side. I don't want mindless casual games. I am looking for something that is fun and will grip me for hours.

Are there any truly decent dungeon crawlers, or RPGs? I am not interested in FPS, as I don't think touch controls are fun to use with that type of a game.

It's the same for iOS. Mobile devices do not really offer in depth gaming. They aim for time wasters that are nothing beyond simple swipes or taps.

Having said that, with Android you could install various emulators and play all the classics.

There are some RPGs mentioned there.

Ah-ha! Found one. I found it to be one of the most in-depth games on the IPad, and there is an Android version.

This is where the Android users win out over IPad users, since the IPad version hasn't been updated like in two years, ever since the person who made the app and wasn't affiliated with the team just disappeared.

The Zenonia games are pretty fun RPG's. SNES era looking, Zeldaish in play style. There ar 3 of them I think.

You can try the Kairosoft games, I really liked "Game Dev Story" and "Grand Prix Story". They have a good bit of games but most of them have pretty much the same gameplay which can get old quick. I also tried out "Hot Springs Story" and "Epic Astro Story" and did not like those.

You can also check out "Blood and Glory". I never played it but it has a good rating on the market and is similar to "Infinity Blade" which I played a ton on my IPOD.

You could try Avadon: The Black Fortress, by Spiderweb Software. It's a very well-made, in-depth RPG and you can get it for iOS or Android.

Unfortunately it requires a bigger screen (tablet) to play it though. You can't run it on a regular smartphone.

I'm inclined to agree... cell phones simply don't offer many complex gaming experiences.

Yea the only thing I tend to play with any regularity is online Cribbage. "Games" on phones get bore or annoy me pretty fast.

Thanks for the responses. I should have added, that I am using a Google Nexus 7" tablet. I agree about the phone being too small. I have a HTC Sensation and don't play any games on it. But this new Google Nexus 7 has the potential for some really good games on it.

Awesome! Avadon should be right up your alley then.
