Android event next week: teaser image points to Tmobile and music? starts 5PM EST

how about they just release the damn nexus phone REGARDLESS of carrier. Honestly, the only carriers who won't play ball are the CDMA ones which require branding and exclusivity. It's retarded. Every other carrier = slap in your SIM and you're good to go.

I thought T-Mobile was getting the Nexus. Samsung GT-I9250 already passed through FCC certification process and has both AT&T and T-Mobile bands.

AT&T is definitely not just slap in your SIM and go. That's why they scan their networks to find out which phone you have.

Yes AT&T is slap in your sim. The only scans they do are for the IMEI's of phones they have in their database, which are basically the official AT&T-branded phones. Any other phone is usable no issue and they will have no idea what phone you have.

starting in 5 minutes

edit:
boring as hell so far. nothing that exciting.

edit 2:

Uh yes it is. You can put practically any GSM phone on AT&T. Many of the smartphones will not work on 3G due to lack of 850/1900, but with the SGS2 and some other phones that is changing... They don't really recognize all the international models out there...
