G2 Clockwork Recovery now on ROM Manager. Things move fast. Cyanogen posted BaconBits, a tweaking script or sorts, on XDA. Yeesh, will we have working ROMs by the end of the week?

It is, hardware speaking. However, the thing sucks since no one can crack the boot loader. Therefore, only allowing half-assed ROMs based on the Blur-ridden 2.2 ROM. We'll never have an AOSP experience on this phone.

This. Didn't buy the X for this reason.

The MT4G and G2 are about to very quickly leave their locked competitors in the dust.

Baconbits is a custom kernel, allows for OCing and some other things. People have been overclocking the G2 to 1.5GHz which is pretty insane, hitting 50+ in linpack and 2300+ in quadrant.

Apparently you have to be on Wifi for the MT4G to show up, I rooted mine a little earlier at work (lol), got to wait until I get home to get recovery though.

Also visionary can give perm root now, that's what I used. They pulled it from the marketplace though so you have to go to his site to get the apk.
