Android camera...

Every phone may be slightly different, but my Droid has a camera icon like this:

The first time I click on it, it leads me through a step by step setup to set the camera up. Then you use the phone like a camera onc e you have it set up just by tapping that icon.

You push the camera icon. If you can't find that, I suggest you read your user guide/manual.

Not the camera icon the app. No clue how to use it. I push the circle, it spins then nothing. I sound really stupid right now.

The app is built in to the camera. The icon turns it on and sets it up. You have yet to specify your phone brand and model. All Android phones are not the same. I see you are in Mass. Suggest you read the manual and/or take your phone to your ISP provider and have them show you.

It depends on which company made the photo app. In many Android phones, you press anywhere BUT the circle. The circle is used to set where to focus, how bright the image should be, etc. Thus to take the photo, press anywhere else on the whole screen.

on some models, after you open the camera app, the volume buttons will snap a picture. pushing on the circle may set the focus point.
