First it was Face book messenger... Don't really use it... Deleted ... next day... noticed that FaceBOOK app itself was sucking down like 15% of the battery. So I just deleted that app off the phone...

Next week later I left Gmail open and notice my phone down to 15% from almost a full charge, Google services (whatever that is) 27% and gmail 19%.

Sheesh, what do I need to put on my phone to stop this from happening?

I got an s6.... I can't just uninstall gmail since, I use it a lot.

You can disable gmail sync and install another email client that'll check your gmail.

Thanks...but, I had a different email client before that... Did the same thing.

Kept the phone active and kept eating the battery.

I'm testing DR Battery now...

I had a pretty good app killer for m nexsus 7. Can't remember what it was. I hear some of these work better than others.

I'd rather not try other apps. Others say go into google or you phone settings and where it says sync, disable that. Apparently, all the apps have to go through google services to sync.

But, in settings, accounts it says it's turned off. tho, if I tap on the gmail it somehow synced up today about a few hours ago.... So much for turning it off!

Solution! Turn on airplane mode. :)

I wouldn't bother with any app killers, they do more harm than good nowadays. These app's drain your battery mostly because they have sync issues. Unless you have root and disable them from starting upon bootup and disable their services that relaunch them they'll just keep restarting by themselves, having an app constantly kill them won't do you much good.

That's what I was going to suggest. That is how I keep my cell - also my Kindle readers. It is very quick to turn that on and off, and when ON, it really saves battery.
