So it asks me to send it to device. If I send it to one device now, I can still get it on another device later, right?

Should be able to. The apps are tied to the google acct you use so any phone you attach that acct to should be able to redownload the app.

it won't let me download a game because it's not compatible with my Nexus one

I have a tablet on order ans will want it on the tablet, how do I purchase an "incompatible" software? Trying from my PC, no the phone, by the way

Yeah, I couldn't get the Asphalt racing game because it's not compatible with my device. Is there any way around this? I'd like to buy it for the future.

you can't buy it frm your computer either, it still knows your devices
I'm in the process of installing the Android SDK on my PC to see if I can emulate a compatible device and download that way.
I'll report back

Are you using the new market or the old style market from your phone. I don't "think" the old market does all the compatibility checks that the new market or the PC version do. I distinctly remember downloading several apps for my Aria that ended up not working because of compatibility, but I still was able to download them. Flash is one in particular I remember. Just had to use the old market, but I don't know if that will work in your case. Its been a while since I used that phone.

PM: Can you buy it from the Android Market store on your computer? Through the browser?

No, as papaschtroumpf said, it seems to know what I have on my computer too.

I think I'm using the newest. I'm buying it on my Asus Transformer.

If the emulator works, please let me know, and I'll do that.

This is the easiest way I know, but it depends on you having had the old market on your phone before.

I use a simple method, which works very well, and so far has not had a down side:

1) Using Titanium Backup (Or another app that lets you do this) either Freeze (Paid app) or Backup, then delete Market Update (Free App) 2) Go to Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, and scroll down to market, and select 3) Uninstall updates from Market

This is very easy to do, and you may be able to use other freeze or backup apps to achieve the same result. Also note, no reboot required.

You can also try some of the methods at this address but they're more difficult. Possibly more trouble than they're worth.

If you need anything else let me know. I'm typing from my phone so I had to copy/paste the answer from someplace else. I'll type a better one at a computer if you need it later.

I can't figure out how to get the market on the android emulator. instructions and packages out there are just outdated.

I missed on asphalt 6 and now looks like I'm going to miss on backstab because of the stupid "not compatible with your device".
I can't downgrade the market on my phone, my employer owns it and messing with it is against policy (fortunately downloading legal games and apps is not)

The apps that have been .10 during the sale are still .10 until the sale is over. If you REALLY really need these, you can change your password for your account, give your log in to a friend or member you trust so they can log-in once on a supported device, then you should be able to buy via the browser at https://market.android.com

This will at the very least keep those games on your account, but it won't make your unsupported device supported again.

awd launcher didn't seem to be 10 cents anymore. maybe I looked up the wrong version.
I did notice some of them were still at 10 cents.

I have a friend with a galaxy tab 10.1 so I'll see if he's willing to do this tomorrow.

update: I finally have the market installed in the emulator (had to run the first release of honeycomb to work with the packages I had) but I can't seem to sign in my google account, keeps failing, but I know it also does that on many real devices, so I'll keep trying.
I also can't get the added pakages for the market to stick after I reboot the emulator, even though I deleted the SdkSetup.apk

Hmmm... looks like you're right. Only some of these apps are staying at 0.10 past the one day.

Anyone know what apps were available yesterday? I completely forgot to check so I want to see if any are still .10.

it pisses me off to that i can just buy them now even though i dont need them. i am getting a kindle fire for my son and i can install them on that but i cant because of my phone.

what is the big deal of just letting us buy them even if we cant use them.

also how about some freaking apps instead of 9 out of 10 being games. i would rather have some good apps that i can use.

PS: I tried .10c SwiftKey and just have to stick with Swype. Nothing compares.

I just "bought" Camera ZOOM FX.
Not even sure I've used my phone yet.
But, at 10 cents, I'll buy now, and ask questions later.
