Depends upon what gui your phone manufacturer has place on top of the based Android operating system. More importantly I have noticed that some applications will not allow you to migrate the app from internal storage to SD card. With that said, some phones allow you to "extend" your internal storage to the SD card (sorta like extending a disk filesystem) so that it appears all as internal storage. Will that mean the apps are actually on the SD, who knows.

What would be nice is a third party app that runs in background and when you install apps, prompts you for where you want it installed to.

I'm ok with installing apps onto the internal drive.
I just want to make sure storage is on the SD.
Mainly my camera & CamScanner, both of which I just set to SD.
So, I should be all set, as they are the 2 apps that create local files.
