Hi,

I would like to make sure that when my Android 4.0 phone gets lost/stolen the finder/thief cannot access my data on it; e.g. eMails, passwords etc. Is a lock screen password sufficient for this? Or would he be able to connect via USB?
What advantages will encryption bring in this context?

Thank you!

If you are on Verizon, there is an app called Verizon Mobile security. Has ability to track your phone via GPS, or you can wipe it out remotely via web access to your Verizon profile account and it costs 1$ per month.. IIRC

edit: i think you may be able to lock it too.. ,look into it

Thank you but this would only work if the thief has the phone connected. He could simply keep it in his basement until he copied all my data...
