I performed the upgrade last night. Took about 10 minutes and everything was smooth. I don't have too many apps or text messages, and my contacts are synced so I did not care that it wiped my data. I will need to reinstall the apps I have written for personal use.

The phone is considerably snappier, which I am pretty pleased about. My only complaint is that I have to have an unlock password now because I am syncing with Exchange. I will probably use an app to workaround.

I upgraded my Hero last night as well. It took a good two hours to get the kinks worked out before I could even start - I had trouble installing HTC Sync on my PC (I had to find a work around for the 64bit drivers). Once I got everything worked out, it took about 8 to 10 minutes for the upgrade.

I did have the same moment of panic on the first reboot as it took FOREVER, but I've found that the overall performance is greatly improved.

I'll stick with my cooked ROM's, but it's nice they have made it available finally.

Yea I had the panic moment too from first reboot.

Weird, my overall performance is worser.
