I heard it only do good if your res is high and mon is big.
otherwise the difference is smaller as the 2 variables above get smaller.

I got a Vision Master Pro 450 with BNC and when I saw AndrewR's post I shot Iiyama an e-mail asking about the cable:

I have the A901HT. It's connected via the cable that came with it. I

The reply:

No the BNC can help if you are have some issues but it is not always a
improvement. If you need a longer cable then you must go to BNC style. Most larger PC stores will carry BNC cables. Chris Nash <cnash@IIYAMA.com>

Based purly on my networking courses, I expect that any monitor should recieve a nice boost from BNC connectors. Basically, what they do is relieve near-end crosstalk on one end of the cable, and dampen the interference along the cable itself by individually sheilding each wire.

I ordered my BNC cable today; I hope I'm right.

Naughty:

Give us an update when you get them hooked up please, I'm curious as I just got my Samsung 900NF today and it has BNC connectors.

When I bought my 3d Prophet DDR and Iiyama Pro 450 several months back I have terrible image quality, and I could not run any refresh rate above 70 Hz., After trying everything , I picked up a BNC monitor cable....wham!, problem solved, with the evolution of the Nvidia drivers and the BNC cable I now run my desktop at 1280x1024 @ 100Hz with very crisp text and 2D image quality. If you monitor accepts BNC and especially if you use an Nvidia card, it is the best $20 you can spend.

my 21" Trinitron appears to have sharper text w/ the BNC cable... other than that, there aren't any great noticeable improvements

LXi,

Which 17" Samsungs have the BNC port? I have a 17" Samsung which doesn't, guess that's just my luck.

I use Sony GPD-F400, which is top quality 19" monitor. Colors look pretty good already, so would adding BNC cable give me big improvement? I mean is it worth spending $20 on something what looks good already?

How do you know what to look for when buying a BNC cable that will definitely improve picture quality? I bought a $15 BNC cable for my Sony GDM-400PS last year and didn't notice anything different in terms of picture quality from the HD15 cable that came with the monitor. I did notice, though, that the max refresh allowed by Windows 98 at 1600x1200 was 72 Hz rather than 75 Hz (which was present with the HD15 cable). The monitor had to be manually selected in Windows 98 since the plug and play is lost when using the BNC.

I have BNC connected to my 20" artmedia, it came with the monitor even.

I´d recomend anyone with monitors with BNC connectors to get a BNC cable, well worth it.

This sounds like a really cool thing to do. My 19inch has BNC connectors on the back and now i can't wait to try them out.

I was talking to a friend who was involved in video compression algorithm design (or something like that) on large monitors in Unix. He says that on some monitors he saw some improvement with BNC but was never wowed by the improvement.

Well, I'll probably get one of these anyway, but YMMV.

Or this will make me second guess too.

<< To see if there was any difference, we used another HD-15 cable from a Sony monitor and the Mitsubishi still displayed crystal clear images. Makes you wonder if BNC is just hype now doesn't it? >>

chedck it out
