They shared information on the investigation of the clinton foundation through the public affairs office and with the possible consent and knowledge of comey.

Comey was asked if he ever was an anonymous source or if he directed anyone to be an anonymous source and clearly the answer is no; they went through the public affairs office and therefore it was not anonymous (the source is the FBIs public affairs office).
Also we're not exactly sure what information was shared about the clinton foundation investigation. Was it info that was damaging? Or info that was exonerating? Doesn't that kind of matter? In addition, there is no indication that the information was classified and not privy to discussion with a journalist by people high as high in the FBI as Comey and McCabe either. After all Comey gave some information of his interactions with president trump to his columbia professor colleague and that seems to in no way be a crime or violation of any sort of protocol.

Again, to this point it seems very very unclear why McCabe was fired other than political retribution of some sort.

That opinion piece makes a pretty big leap in the following paragraph:

If the “interaction” means leaking the information, then McCabe’s statement would seem to directly contradict statements Comey made in a May 2017 congressional hearing. Asked if he had “ever been an anonymous source in news reports about matters relating to the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation” or whether he had “ever authorized someone else at the FBI to be an anonymous source in news reports about the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation,” Comey replied “never” and “no.”

As a filthy American capitalist I bought shares of Amazon in november 2016 for 780$ a share specifically because I heard they treat their employees like absolute garbage and are destroying the entire retail sector of the US economy. Those shares are now worth 1500 each.
