This. This right here...is all the reason in the world for you not to believe the global warming hype. The truth about climate change isn't scary at all, so they have to say stuff like this. He's not the only one.

LOL fake news daily caller. As usual trying to score points rather than investigating.

He means "floods" which is true, because New York doesn't have flooding problems usually. Not outside of Freeport anyways.

You need to change the headline, while the Daily Caller posted that headline, Como never said that phrase. What they have in quotes is clickbait crap. Since you posted that garbage you're just as guilty of
posting fake news as they are.

So all done going after the scientist and instead focusing on "Crazy Ass" ( your words) people? Stop picking on loons and go after experts is my advice.

Prior to 2010 there does not seem to be a discernible trend. NHC did not have any newer data in table form that I could see from a fairly brief search.

Er, no.

Whether or not you consider it a gaffe, it doesn't invalidate the broad scientific consensus that human-made climate change is real and could have long-lasting, harmful ramifications for society. We still have to lower our emissions, kill off fossil fuels wherever possible and promote renewables and carbon neutrality/negative efforts.

The idea that this somehow disproves climate change is about the same as when Inhofe brought a snowball into the senate and said there is no climate change.

The scientific evidence doesn’t care about the rhetoric. It’s here, it’s happening, and it’s likely to get worse without significant mitigation.

Trump supporters trying to act like they care about the accuracy of statements now? Hilarious OP fail, though the low information anti-science dogma there does add an element of sadness to it.

Anyone who wants to debate the scientific merit of climate change doesn't have to look far if they are intellectually honest. Pretending like a politician speaks for the scientific consensus on climate change would indicate a marked lack of interest in honesty.

If these are the limp stories repugs think will save them and their dear leaders from justice and being voted out of office, haha good luck with that.

“Ali, anyone who questions extreme weather and climate change is just delusional at this point,” Cuomo told MSNBC anchor Ali Velshi. ” We have seen in the State of New York and we have seen — it is something we never had before.”
We didn’t have hurricanes or super storms or tornadoes,” Cuomo added.

That sort of direct lying and propaganda from a State Governor no less, does not help. His statement is easily proven false. As is this topic, opponents seize upon such stupidity to embolden their own agenda and claims against science. Because if Democrats can be anti science, so can they! Andrew Cuomo harmed efforts against Global Warming here.

I’m hardly a Cuomo fan but don’t get too hung up on the stupid shit politicians sometimes say (because it’s going to happen), look at their policies instead. NY has enacted some relatively aggressive legislation to curb emissions among other initiatives. More needs to be done but they’re light years ahead of R controlled states.

Why?

I'm not going to defend Cuomo on his poor selection of words. I will note that his record is much better than many in DC who diss climate change. There's no equivalence in that regard who holds the highest office in their respective governments. If the point is to make fun of Cuomo, have at but in terms of misspeaking? He's about average among average people.

You’ve decided not to believe science because a politician said something dumb?

Thanks for posting this because this really tells us everything we need to know about how global warming deniers work. You don’t care about the science, you care about your feelings.

Really, thank you for exposing just how logically bankrupt your position is.

Absent the evidence and the explanation of how... what I said can be summed up in TL;DR: Cumo made a mistake and it helps his opponents.

The question is if it appreciably helps them. He just very easily won a new term as governor and the Democrats govern with a trifecta. The only people nodding their heads at this are regular consumers of right wing media who think it confirms their priors. Climate change denial is a conspiracy theory on par with Q believers at this point.

Dude why do you think physics stops working when someone you disagree with says something you think is stupid?

Jaskalas does have a point. It’s just another example of the double standard liberal politicians are held to versus conservatives.

Any hyperbolic statement made by a conservative is nodded at sagely.

Any hyperbolic statement made by a liberal is used to justify their previously held beliefs.

Let's assume your reference wasn't dishonest clickbait and focus on the manner in which you draw conclusions from it:

1. Politician says ridiculous lie about topic
2. Therefore, everything any politician says about said topic being a problem is a lie

Let's apply that to Trump. I guess that means we can forget about illegal immigration, overregulation, voter fraud, etc. They aren't real problems anymore!

How is a NON-scientist politician being bad at the communication of science make you any better at science or disprove a scientific consensus?

If a politician says something wrong about the shape of the earth does that prove flat earth?

If a politician says something stupid about vaccines, does that prove the anti-vax conspiracy?

The difference between Cuomo and you is, while he may have said something stupid because he's NOT a scientist, at least he is not a scientific consensus denier. You, on the other hand, said something stupid here too AND you're a science denier.

May as well be a flat earther and anti-vaxxer for all the "evidence" this miss-statement by a non-scientist politician is that "disproves" one of the strongest scientific consensus in history.

If a non-scientist saying something factually incorrect about a scientific topic is "all the reason in the world" you need to not accept (science has nothing to do with "belief) a scientific consensus you didn't accept it before and, well, you must reject all science, right? Because I don;t think there is a single subject in science that has not been poorly communicated by non-scientist politicians.

Name a science subject. I'll debunk the entire science using this new "standard of evidence" you have created here.

I just don’t think it’s meaningful politically or from a standpoint of enacting policy. It’s stupid, like a lot of what Cuomo says off the cuff, but isn’t going to move the needle.

If right wingers weren’t complaining about stuff like this it would be something else. Or they’d just make something up.

Haha OP is adorable. Republicans and science aren't exactly best of friends.

Most large companies have accepted climate change as reality. Deal with it.

NY'er here.
Growing up, tornado's were one of those oddball things that happened in flyover states.
Wasn't so nice when a Tornado wrecked shit last year on my block. Now they seem, to be a regular thing throughout my area.

I thought the republicans had even moved away from disputing it and shifted to the contribution by mankind.
