This is unbelievably ridiculous. BP and the government are enforcing 65 ft-away rules with 40,000 dollar fines and a class D felony. Really? This seems criminal to me, if not in the eyes of the law, than the eyes of the people.

Watch the video and tell me if you can believe this shit...

My opinion on the whole thing is that a good part of the BP executive team needs to be brought before a firing squad.

It's just been redefined as being on a "need-to-know" basis, and we clearly don't need to know about it.

What you don't know can't hurt you.

Obama worked out a 20 billion dollar bribe thats not going to even come close to total cost of this thing . He needs to be in that firing line.

You guys should stay ontop of this . Shortly it will becone the biggest news since AH and WWII. By Jan . People will know this is there end.

The head preasure is 100,000 psi . We don't have the tech to do this thing . Hell it took russians 3 years to cap one on land that was 70,000 psi . Thats the offical time . Real time was 6 years . A nuke did the job . They can't nuke this baby . I can't believe ya didn't know there was a news blackout. Its really really bad down there. Bob getting video and helping out on land. The government is getting ready to move people into camps as we speak.

Whats the government and BP hiding . Ether is bubbling up from that brew. When we get the full results it will be posted on utube.

Phew. Now, we know. I'm glad we cleared that up.

This will not stand up in a court of law, everything would be dismissed by the prosecutors.
It's a BP attempt to limit information and tie it up in procedures.

For what? The video is of government action. Yet I see no mention of what to do to those in the chain of command responsible for what Anderson described. Surely you wouldn't give them a free pass, now would you?

This is what I mean when I say "Obama owns this disaster now". He's certainly not responsible for the disaster, but the executive branch he is responsible for has botched much of the subsequent actions. Ultimately, he's responsible for that, just like Bush was responsible for the botching of Katrina-related activities.

I guess they don't want you to see all the dead wile life. I saw a pic of a dead baby sperm whale before they burned it up. They are burning up any and all evidence of all the dead sea life before it washes up on the shore.

I can only imagine why they don't want the media around but I think it should all be documented no matter how terrible it is.

But yeah, your right, someone needs to go to jail for this. I don't see how it's Obama's fault tho. The stuff was built long before his watch.

If anything this IS the OUR fault. Every time you pull up to the pump and pump in 12 gallons of 2.50 cent gas......... Think about it... Maybe we should start buying more fuel efficient cars?

I say that we make people that want to continue to keep their V6-V8 pay 5.00 more per gallon and anyone with a 4 cylinder should get to pay whatever the market value is, and anyone with a hybrid or motorcycle should pay .50 cents less then the market.

Wake up freaks. The one's in the firing squad should be ourselves for letting this happen. Only YOU are to blame for this mess.

While BP holds some responsibility, Cooper is right imo in assigning the blame to the government. The government can make this process more transparent and help show the media what is really going on. Although I am all about safety first etc etc, I think from what we can see here there is NO GOOD JUSTIFICATION for the Coast Guard (and by extension, the government) to be doing and enforcing what they are doing here.

BP DOES NOT HAND OUT CLASS D FELONIES AND FINES. Uncle Sam does. If this doesn't get handled appropriately by the Coast Guard, Obama should be stepping in.

This is sick.

Didn't you watch the video? The feds are a big part of this effort. They are involved in making this decision and enforcing it.

According to the CG, this is for safety and security. Is 65 feet too much of a distance? The media has zoom cameras and can pick up a lot of the pictures they want at that distance. What would be a good distance? 30 feet? You don't want the media running around in the middle of the operations, do you? It really could be disruptive and unsafe. Whats the middle ground?

We should have nuked this thing a week after it happened. BP hiding what was going on was why this was caused, and part of the reason why it took so long for anyone to realize it was so bad. What as their original estimate 1000 barrels a day? and its now what 50-100k? Now Obama is just trying to save his poll numbers by going along with BP hiding everything.

Divert, deflect, dodge... in your world, the government enforcing BP's desire for secrecy clearly has nothing to do with Obama.

I haven't kept up with the responsibility flow chart. Where do the RAND Corporation and the Reverse Vampires fit into all this?

Yeah, my terrrible gas-guzzling V6, that gets 32mpg highway (which is what I primarily drive). Oh the horror, it's terrible.

Guess what, your little 4 banger still uses gasoline, which still comes from oil. Whether or not we were all driving 4 bangers this still would have happened. Plus, you DO realize that a heck of a lot more stuff comes from crude oil than just gasoline, right? Or are you one of those who forgets that fact?

I find it amusing that you poke fun at me . Its like I didn't see any of this coming right,

So when January rules around and the numbers are at 170,000 barrels aday were it belongs. You not be poking fun at anyone . I been looking for these events since I was 4 when Lilith told me about the Qaukes / volcanoes and the waterbearer pour his vile upon the earth . LOL all you want . I will be the 1 in the end who sets back and watches the freak show thats about to begin. You people losing your heads . But I won't be LOL about the events just the fools who think their all there is .
