And You're not allowed to rent here anymore....YEAH!...a real life clerks story

i was just in the video store i rent from and the guy is nice and rent his dvd's for $1.07

well a woman came in saying she had returned the wrong dvd that her kids had rented, as today she saw the movie was still in the computer.

well he explains that it in fact was a 2 dvd movie (he always gives both dvd's if its a 2 dvd set) and they only returned one, but since its an accident he will reduce the $5 fee for being 3 days late to $2 the fee for 1 day late.

and she started getting all upset saying how it wasnt her fault cause she didnt know it was 2 dvds and its not fair and how she has been a customer for a long time...

well he returned with, yeah and for a long time you have been coming in complaining about tiny amounts of money and if she doesnt like it dont rent here anymore

"fine i wont"

"GOOD! Finally"

gave me a big smile...

how can u argue with a guy who rents u any movie for $1

heh i bet she is back after finding out blockbuster charges $4.

why was in in the computer anyway. shoulda told her its against the law to copy the movie heh

So you know how the whole business works? Do you have to buy special licenses to rent out those movies? My wife and I have thought about setting up a movie mart in our area, but not quite sure what the requirements are.

You want reduced late fee? Three dolla!

But he got free late fees!

No rental for you!

$1 for rental. great price. gah, people complain it's not their fault they don't know what's being rented. noose.

Some 2disc sets (most actually) have DVDRom content. I've never actually installed any of it, but, I guess some folks might. Also some folks watch movies on their PC's... PowerDVD, etc...

Anyway, good story. Reminds me of the videogame rental store guy website...

Right, because there's no such thing as DVD playback software for computers

sure there is. but most people that rent dvd's have a DVD player.

but what Dman stated is more likely. it had extra stuff on it for the DVD player

Awesome. If I didn't have to worry overly about money, and ran a store, I'd be banning people all the time. Which is probably why I shouldn't be in customer service.

Hubris ... That's a sweet Idea ... If I ever somehow become filthy rich, I'm going to open a buisness just so I can not sell stuff to people and kick them out of the store.
