I guess they don't have kidnapping laws in japan.

I would have sued their asses as soon as I could and never worked another day of my life.

This is one of the cases where tv has gone TOO far(If it is true that is).

The bullsh!t-0-meter is pegging out...but unfortunately it would not surprise me if this actually happend.

The Japanese culture is one culture that I fail(and really don't want) to understand.

From a culture that buys and sells used adolecent girls underwear, has more or less rape scenes for porn, among other things, something of this sort wouldn't surprise me :(

verification... this did actually happen.... i heard a little bit about it when i was living in japan.... i never watched it though...

I find this hard to believe unless it's from a credible source.. and both links on that page are suspicious. Wouldn't word like this leak to the US media or tabloids?

I heard the American version consists of locking a plaintiff inside a court room and forcing him to sue his way to $1 million dollars and use this money to live off of. Apparently it didn't work because the plaintiffs all walked away within a few hours having won well over a million dollars;)
