There are entire companies who's business is mainly based off that forum, its pretty big and popular in reality.

Quite a few businesses actually sprung up out of those forums.

5 Million Candlepower Flashlights?

Yeah, clearly people here aren't flashaholics! 😛

Mag lites are cheap trash.

There are real HID Xenon handheld lights that cost thousands of dollars and really do put out several million cp.

The real stuff isn't found on the shelves at Wal Mart folks.

Cheers!

The point being that Mags are cheap and work fine for almost all uses for a light. They don't need 5 million candlepower for the uses that they're put to🙂 The only people that really could use that much power would be search and rescue types or serious nighttime boaters (and then why not just buy a spotlight).

Well, I have an account there because I wanted to find a way to power a Nichia ultrabright LED with a single AA battery. I came away with a few circuit schematics, but not the skill to actually hook it up. I did manage to use the LEDs I purchased with a few resistors and batteries to light my house during the big blackout. No one was impressed.
