Yeah - strange choice of vid.

But wow - that's a badly designed crossing. Basically, the semi got his truck caught on the crossing by the barriers. He was half way across, barriers come down - rig gets stuck on the barriers. Can't reverse off the tracks - only way is forwards. ouch.

Since oil started dropping weeks ago, our gas price has dropped by a total of $.03/L....that's it. We're still paying over $5.68/gal for gas, even though oil has dropped an assload. Other prices continue to rise, it's simply awesome.

I'm not sure how else they could have designed it; there are two sets of tracks, and the truck was on one of them when the barrier came down. At least around here, the lights start flashing and the bell starts ringing well before the barriers come down, so it's likely that he had warning before he went onto the tracks.

He was clear of the main line after backing up the first time. Those crossing gates are held on by a brass bolt and break away VERY easily. No way it hindered his movement.
