Hey you better not make fun of those two guys. THEY ARE BOTH MIT Graduates

BTW NPR is probably one of the best radio station. It beats every trash talk shows on the AM.

No, NPR sucks. The only thing saving it is Car Talk. And isn't it my luck that they have the fund raiser right in between the program.

You'll enjoy NPR more when you get older. It's just like newspapers. Most young kids won't read them. When you get to college, almost everybody reads them. Especially at Penn State, where they give out free NY TImes, USA TOday, the local paper, and the collegian everyday.

I read newspapers, but every aspect of NPR ticks me off. From the cr@ppy newstories, annoying songs played in between them, and the I-can-drone-like-Ben-Stein announcers, A newspaper sure beats that crud.

NPR is the worse.

The only people I know who listen to it are die hard democrats who do not want to hear any other viewpoints and maybe be forced to think for themselves.

Car talk is ok if you tape it and cut out the BS on playback.

I enjoy NPR but I am not a democrat. Car Talk is definately one of the best things about it. hahahaha on the fund raising. 88.5 is doing their fund raiser now too but at least they only do it twice a year.

wtf? man NPR is awesome, they are a great way to get a quick overview of what is going on the the world, i like their announcers and they have a great variety of music inbetween news breifs, from aritha franklin to nirvana.

also, here in college station, its followed by fresh air, they have very good guest and great interviews.

all in all, i think its great programming just like PBS. (well most of the time)

Hmm, I work in Finance on Wall Street. Hardly a stronghold for Democrats, and everyone I know listens to NPR. In fact, we often discuss what we heard.

i was forced to listen to NPR as a child, and it isn't that bad, the news parts. I like the rest of the programming, because you can always turn it on and probably hear good classical or good jazz, when the rest of the rock stations are playing crap.

and Car Talk is the best thing on radio! too bad i always miss it.

Oddly enough the web site is npr.org I listen to left and right talk radio, and turn to npr for objective reportage. They depend on government funding and so maintain a very central position. That makes them look left to right wing nuts, and right to left wing nuts. Actually, they never touch truly left material except in the middle of the night about once a week. You gotta go to Pacifica Radio to get an insight into the real truth beyond the corporate smoke screen. For those of you who have never been exposed to this side of reality, it'ill blow your mind.
