I love me some newegg.

Kinda depressed they sell so much other shit than computer parts these days. Sell outs!

That doesn't really bother me unless I get redirected to their 3rd party "marketplace" for a specific product search. I never search for anything other than computer parts so I doubt that will ever happen.

Actually, I'm kind of happy for that. I found a fairly obscure item that I've scoured the 'net for via a vendor on their marketplace for a reasonable price, whereas I could only find one or two online elsewhere with long distributor lead times or outrageous prices.

Other than that, I'm enjoying my new monitor, and my wife is enjoying her new computer. I love me some Newegg!

I order from NewEgg or Amazon depending on whose cheaper as I get free two-day shipping with either of them. Although, some of NewEgg's items are not available for two-day shipping with ShopRunner even though they are sold by NewEgg. ...at least that's what I've seen.

For my latest upgrade, I bought my motherboard, CPU and memory from Newegg, but my new SSD and Windows 8 (yeah, I decided to live on the wild side) from Amazon. I saved about $35 on that second purchase vs. NewEgg.

meanwhile amazon prime has degraded- saturday delivery is now extra. So If you don't order mon-wed its not really two day shipping most of the time. :(

It depends. Sometimes, I've ordered an item on Thursday in the afternoon (around 2-5PM), and the delivery date was listed as Saturday. In some cases, they had to ship it to me from further away, and I did in fact get Saturday delivery. Amazon has a warehouse pretty close to me, so I sometimes get products the next day.

Yup, shoprunner only covers certain items at the stores it participates with. Their website has a listing of the current eligible items.

Same here, I use shoprunner 2day, and they always send it ground, and it still makes it in 1 day.

Really? I got that free year of ShopRunner awhile ago and every order from Newegg takes twice as long when I use it, so I just order it regular free 3-day shipping. Although a lot more of Newegg's stuff doesn't have the free shipping or the Saver-whatever shipping :(

Fortunately their New Jersey distribution center is only a state away, so it usually shows up within a day or two anyway

I order from NE just like I order from everyone else... based on total price, including shipping or sales tax. If it's a big ticket item (to me that's pretty much anything over about $150) and it's an item that may be subject to a warranty return, etc, that is factored in as well. If it's just parts or something, NE looks pretty good... no sales tax, usually free shipping. I can't justify driving down to Dallas just to buy a case fan from MC... I would spend $20 in gas to do so.

It's also a trade off... I'll be getting a new case next month, it's $99 at NE and MC... MC I pay sales tax (8.25%) plus gas, NE I pay $12.79 shipping and it's setting at my door in 4 or 5 days. MC would allow me to pick out the box, NE box may (I figure 50/50 chance) be damaged in transit... and no etailer is immune to this. Amazon is on my poop list because they caved and universally charge sales tax, although I ordered something from them last night... as opposed to ordering it from my distributor for less money + shipping, but no sales tax.

It's all about what it's worth to you.
