No sales tax in my state, free 2 day shipping with ShopRunner, and being able to order at 2pm on a Thursday and still have that 2 day shipping end up being 1 day shipping because Newegg has a warehouse in TN (1 state over from me) so I don't have to wait through the weekend for stuff.

Oh yeah, and the prices are still hard to beat when stuff is on sale (unless you're looking for a CPU/Mobo combo, then you might as well drive to Microcenter pretty much no matter where in the US you are... I kid )

Same here, I use shoprunner 2day, and they always send it ground, and it still makes it in 1 day.

What bothers me is when it takes 3 or 4 days because they sent it ground assuming it would get there within 1 day, but the shipper isn't required to get ground shipments there within that same window.

But then again, all online places have a proximity map and take advantage of ground when they can.

There's tax, you just don't pay it.

But anyway, yeah I ordered a product from them and it arrived defective. Manufacturer wanted me to RMA it with them and pay shipping. I chatted up NewEgg and they did an advance RMA and I paid nothing.

Newegg has always been great when it came to customer service. Pretty much like a retail store when it comes to defectives and returns. Have problems within a week or two from purchase, they usually cover return shipping and everything in my experience.

I haven't had the need to order anything in a while, but I've honestly been wondering why all the newegg hate lately (particularly on other idiot forums). Sheeple gonna sheep I guess. In the meantime I'm going to enjoy my new monitor and my wife is going to enjoy her (mostly) new computer.

Are sales made on the Internet subject to sales or use tax?
Yes. Even if a seller does not collect Tennessee sales tax from you, when you ask a dealer to deliver an item to you in Tennessee, you are responsible for paying use tax at the same rate as sales tax. Click here to download the return.

I am not in TN. That said, I may or may not be paying my local use tax.

B-b-but I thought Newegg went to total shit? We get stuff like this, and then we get stories of them sending used stuff out and refusing to give refunds or claiming the buyer broke it.

Just an example. I didn't know which state you were in.

It's hard to believe people still think they can get a free ride on the taxes that the local businesses have to charge, and they even brag and snicker about it.

If the State comes to collect from those folks, you know there's going to be quite a sob story...

That "perk" will be gone soon enough for everybody.

I recently ordered a 24 bay SuperMicro case from them not too long ago. usually it takes a couple weeks but it actually took 2-3 days, I was very surprised. Do they have warehouses in Canada too now?

meanwhile amazon prime has degraded- saturday delivery is now extra. So If you don't order mon-wed its not really two day shipping most of the time. :(

I use newzon to find amazon items for my newegg shopping cart. If newegg is cheaper I get it there, but if amazon is cheaper (and has free 2 day) I get it there.

An order I placed yesterday will be at my house tomorrow, via Prime. Saturday delivery isn't always available, but when it is, it's always free for me.

I haven't gotten them to cover return shipping lately. Otherwise their customer service is great.

I still order from NE, not recently as I've nothing I really need to upgrade or buy for business. I've never had a problem and I think I've only had to return something once. They've always been great for me, although I do find myself checking prices on Amazon as well before deciding on a purchase.

It seems like it depends on the warehouse where the item is, it's size, and the shipping company because it seems random whether they offer Sat delivery and if it costs money. UPS doesn't deliver on Sat., FedEx does for a cost, and USPS does for free. I'm sure the selection of which carrier determines Sat. delivery.
