We brought home a puppy two weeks ago and finally got around to going into the office to put in the pet deposit. My wife had called in before we brought home the dog and checked to see what breeds were allowed and how much the deposit was. We were told $200 refundable deposit, $200 non-refundable and then given the list of standard aggressive breeds (pitbull, rottweiler, etc). So we brought home the little guy and now they're telling us it's $300 non-refundable, $175 refundable, and apparently there's a whole load of breeds that aren't allowed that they didn't mention. There's nothing about it in the policies that we were given, apparently they changed it a month after we moved in. The woman in the office didn't tell my wife the correct information.
Apparently if we can't prove our dog isn't one of the breeds that they've added to the list (which they never provided to us) we have to get rid of him. So we've been repeatedly told the wrong info and they changed their policies without giving us notice. I hate renting...
