I dont think that police did anything wrong here. Reported that they acted professionally. Probably mandated to be there. Rogue protection agent was an asshat though and luckily these people knew their rights.

I disagree, they bullied and threatened to take his kids, tried to intimidate the wife to allow them in and to open the safe and refused to identify the state employee that called them there for it. Hopefully this guy can get some high powered attorneys to ream the fucking cops and the New Jersey’s Department of Youth and Family Services. The idea that the woman hid her face, ran off and refused to identify herself is bullshit.

I agree here. DYFS were the bad guys in this story, not the police.

According to the article the cops did none of that. Once again, probably mandatory for any child services call.

That wasn't the cops. that was DYFS.

the cops were professionalism and polite. THEY are by law to be on site.

the guy handled it right too.

I HATE DCFS/DYFS or whatever they are called in the area. the power etc they have is insane.

If they know (which I assume they must) the identity of the DYFS employee they should have to identify her. They played the enforcement role of this fiasco and should be held to account for it.

Ugh. As a cop I had to call child services to a house. It was a reallllllllly hard decision to make and a rookie investigator who came out to take pics was too big of a wuss to make it. The house was beyond ungodly disgusting. Animal shit on the floor, weeks of dirty dishes and garbage, a toilet that had been clogged for who knows how long, no sheets on the kids mattress which was on the floor, it went on and on. Daddy was in Iraq and mommy was failing but I was still scared to what might happen. Chick was actually nice to me, she knew that she had fallen apart. I never went to trial so I'm guessing that she got counseling.

are you sure in that? i really don't think they have to identify the official UNLESS they are doing something to the child.

Yeah if you show up and demand under authority of government to see whateverthefuck is inside you should have to identify yourself first and foremost. Second and not far behind is showing the damned warrant. Actually whichever comes first is fine with me as long as they are disclosed. The ol' "Let me see stuff if you have nothing to hide" trick with police by their side for intimidation (I know they were only doing their job, but the effect is there) it verges on coercion IMO.

It doesn't matter what website it's on. The story is that of the father himself.

But yes, getting the DYFS's side of the story would be nice. Of course that would require they don't run away when you try to get their name etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if the unit FRG got involved, usually police around military installations have the means to contact their unit. Probably did a courtesy call prior to and worked something out. Usually no one cares about FRG but they do have their place. The CDRs wife likely got involved if I had to take a guess.

The worst thing about this post of yours is that you utterly clueless how juvenile you sound. The nanny state will not exist forever and at some point you are going to have to grow up. No better time to start than now.

Interesting. So asking for both sides of a story makes me juvenile and clueless?

Let the circle jerk continue (how's that for juvenile?).

Oh no, you were already juvenile and clueless. Your asking is just the proof.

You're used to having your ever-growing needs provided for by others and are too lazy to look for yourself. Instead you attack the source and bleat out for someone else to provide that which you deem necessary. If you don't like the source material it does not fall onto the shoulders of the rest of us to provide the other side of the story. That burden is yours to carry.

You are right, they didn't, but DYFS certainly did. It's disgusting. They want free reign to search (and probably seize), yet won't even give their credentials, let alone their name. They wouldn't even give their name at the office. Fucking fucks.
