I just got this guy on the phone, who says he's an MCSE who wants "to learn something about NT." So he wants to install his internal DSL modem on NT. No big deal, right? The modem's installed, he can connect. He opens his browser, & gets a "The specified volume does not contain a recognizable file system" error message. And he thinks it's his DSL that's the problem. First place, this guy doesn't know JACK about NT. Knows even less than I do, and I don't know jack about NT. And he's supposedly an MCSE.
So I refer him off to Microsoft. His response? "There's no way in hell I'm going to call them, they'll charge me $100! I had a friend burn me a copy of service pack 2, but that didn't solve the problem either." So I suggest that he download Service Pack 6 on his 98 partition, & burn himself a CD of it. Then install it on his NT partition, since our DSL modems require SP4 or later to run. "I've never burned straight from DSL to CD..."
Oh my GOD this guy is a moron!
