A friend of mine just got back from a 7500 mile motorcyle trip. He was taking a three week vacation before he had to start Engineering Graduate School.
He comes over this afternoon with the electric fan from his motorcycle in his hand. I ask why and he replies it's broken, can you break the spot welds and maybe fix the motor for me....it cost $169 so I would like to try to fix it first. I then ask what happened to it. He says that when he washed his bike at a friend of ours in Phoenix he found a dead bird jammed in the blade and the motor no longer worked. He also said the bike had been running hot since Colorado (He was in Canada when he decided to go to Phoenix). I started laughing at him, and then I asked him if he checked the fuses. Well you already know the answer...NO!
I got out my little battery charger, hooked it up to the electric fan and low and behold the damn thing started spinning! So Mr. Engineer drove his bike all the way back to Houston Texas, from Phoenix, without an electric fan that only needed a new fuse to work!!!!
I guess a college education from Texas Tech is overrated. Good thing he started Graduate School at Texas A&M last Monday.....He definitely didn't learn enough in undergrad!!!!!
