In my part of the world, folks who want to incorporate a suburb of Tucson held a meeting. It was well attended with great public participation and enthusiasm for this wonderful idea.
According to the local newspaper:
“Promptly at 5:30 p.m. the doors were open and long line of awaiting residents rushed to occupy the best seats in Cienega High School’s student union.”
“The news was greeted with claps and cheers. And history was made.”
Except that the paper was published before the meeting took place.
