and the Yankees win!!!!!!!!

Just finished watching game 2 of twins-yankees series and the greaattt come from behind victory by the Bronx Bombers.

What are everyones favorite teams here? and your thoughts of MLB playoff races

TiVo? This happened almost 4 hours ago now. I have to root for the Twins just because I am in MN. Otherwise I'd put a witty comment in here like "People still watch baseball?" or "I thought the American past-time was f4pping on the web.".

yeah 😉 i was away during the game

Gardenhire made a huge mistake by leaving Nathan in for the 3rd inning. If they lose the series, this decision will haunt him

Nope, what's truly annoying is a Yankees' fan who posts a lame thread hours late just to announce old news. Not surprising really, considering most Yankees fans are as self-centered and narcissistic as the Yankees themselves.

That comment made no sense. Do you even know what narcissistic means?

And btw, why is the media on GayRod's jockstrap now? HE MAKES 26 MILLION, what is up with the dck riding, all he's finally doing is earning his paycheck. By the media's standards, Manny should be making $40 Million+ b/c they're on his jock every night and he comes through in the clutch 80% of the time.

The guy won the game for us, chill man. As a matter of fact, nobody was talking about A-rod this season.

He didn't win the game, Matsui did. Well, actually Nathan and Jacque gave the game away with their phenomenal chokes... but my point is, why would the media say ARod is the best all around player in baseball and then pick him to choke in the playoffs? He still had an overall good year so I'm confused... and then when he does come through in the clutch the media says he has finally earned his "Pinstripes". What about Matsui? Ruben Sierra? Cairo? The unsung heroes are the real reason NY even won the division, they should be getting more attention than a guy who makes 26 million "not choking", and I'm not just talking about last night either.

Because you don't earn your pinstripes until you do something in the playoffs.
That's what winning in NY has done. It's the same thing every year. If they don't win the whole thing then the season is considered a failure. No one cares about the regular reason. They always make the playoffs so it's no big deal, winning it all is the goal. Everything else is failure. Now that is the perception, I'm not saying that is my opinion on the matter. They lost in the World Series last year and to me that was not a failure, they lost to one hot team.
Anyway, that's what earning your pinstripes mean.

Hmm, no, Gary Sheffield is the reason they won the division. Both Sierra and Cairo are good role players but that's just it. That's like you saying Manny and Ortiz had nothing to do with Boston winning, it's the other players. We all know that take Manny or Ortiz away from Boston and they're not the same team.

It did matter, b/c Pedro was 0-4 in his last 4 starts with a 7+ ERA, and 2 of those losses came to the DRAYS. He reestablished his old dominant form hitting 93/94 on the radar consistently in his last 2 IP. It was also important because Boston touched up the infallible KROD for the loss, lit Donnelly up like a Christmas tree, and put themselves in a position to sweep Anaheim and get more rest than the winner of the Twinkie/Wankee series.

Also, who said Boston was a dynasty? lol Looks like your true feelings about the Red Sox are coming out, r u skurred Yankee fan boi?

Your age is showing. I'm not the moron that equated Boston with the word "dynasty". There are very few sports teams that deserved such a term throughout history, much less ANY team in baseball today.

not necessarily being a dynasty but sox fans really believe that winning one season puts them ahead of every other franchise.........as if it erases 80 years of losing.

edit: what the hell does 'my age is showing' mean>?

can we just all shut up...we know yankees win a lot and their fans are pompous and bandwagon, red sox fans are angry cause they only have like 5 world championships (or 4 im not sure). So who cares and watch some good baseball. If the yankees win, then itll just be another notch on their belt and more bandwagon fans wil join "america's team" if the red sox win the city of boston will erupt in celebration adn yankee fans will will go, "Oh then it will be another 86 years till they win their next one. No one will ever win this argument, so lets all shut up and let the players do the talking!

Let's not forget that for this "epic" AL Championship Series of Boston vs. New York to even happen, the Yankees need to win 2 more games, and the series moves to Minneapolis on Friday. Hopefully the Twins won't be bending over like the Angels.

define bandwangon will you? I grew up in a suburb of the CIty.....everyone here likes the yankees....there the local team! how does that make me a bandwagon fan? I hate that sh1t everyone other person from a major city area can be a fan of the team from their city without being a bandwagon fan but when it comes to the yankees......nope you cant be a fan. you have to be a bandwagon fan. nonsense.
