And the PS2 just keeps on kicking

Picked it up at BB the other night and I'm really enjoying it right now. The voice acting is top notch, beautiful 2d graphics, great storyline and a lot of fun.

My only gripe with the game is the FPS drop/slowdown. In battles with a lot of characters or a lot of animation going on, the game slows down to a crawl. Hasn't happened a lot, but it sucks when it does.

Along with the titles already out that I still have to play, looking forward to GrimGrimoire and Shin Megami Tensei Persona 3. Possibly Wild Arms 5, not to sure about that.

Hell, at this rate I should be occupied well into 2009, when the PS3 might finally be worth picking up for the games.

I never got into the PS2, I ended up buying a total of 3 games for the system. I played more PS1 games on it than anything else. That was during my PC gaming stage, I've come back to consoles now.

I eventually got into the PS2. Even though I neer got one, I was more of Dreamcast guy from 1999-2002 Eventually I got Final Fantasy and Ratchet and Clank. Haven't played any other console (excluding SNES) ever since.

You really cannot beat the system when it comes to overall game library. Add in all the PSOne games playable on it, and you could keep busy for years to come.

Odin Sphere's been a great game so far to me. Easy to pick up and play, but the challenge is there. The storyline is good as well, but the gorgeous 2D graphics takes the cake. The slowdown happens on occassion, but the worse so far has been during the boss battle against the Queen of the Underworld 🙁

I'm thinking about getting a PS2 just for that reason, though I'm bummed it's limited to SD (480i) since I'm thinking of not buying a TV and playing off a computer monitor. I'm thinking about getting an original Xbox since it does 720p, but aside from Halo, I have no idea what good games it has.

Most good xbox 1 games can be played on th pc. Like the star wars knights of the republic games. Anyways ill be getting a ps2 slim !

The Queen of the Underworld and her level has been the only MAJOR slowdowns I've been through and I'm up to the Dark Knight's story.

Actually, I dont mind it. It allows me to see through the ensuing chaos I make on the screen and plan my escape accordingly if I am surrounded.
