Well that must suck for Laker fans. His style of coaching was pass to LeBron with no other offense at all. Who are they going to have run the plays? Fisher? Kobe? None are athletic enough for that any more. The guy really has had no REAL coaching experience. He didn't even coach the team, just told everyone to pass to James. He was assitant under Popovich (which is always great) but still, his only real coaching experience sucked. Shaw must be pissed and I wouldn't be surprised to see him go somewhere else. I would have really liked to have seen Shaw or Adelman.

You could easily say that about Phil Jackson before his LA run. "Alright boys, here's the play. Inbound to Jordan. Jordan, you go score. Keep doing that. Pippen, if you steal the ball, pass it to Jordan. Jordan, you go score."

He later added, "Rodman, if you get a rebound, pass it to Jordan. Jordan, you go score."

That`s how it used to be but Kobe isn't that player any more. Kobe`s getting old and there`s really no player currently on the Lakers that can run the offense well. The Lakers need a real coach, not someone who`s only experience is coaching a one-man team because the Lakers are no longer that. When Kobe scored less they had a much better record then when he scored more.

They'll be fine....Kobe and Fisher coach that team anyway. Time to pick up a young/fast PG though, sorry Fish.

Its the first time in 4 years they haven't gone to the finals...a tad to early to bury them ;)

No it's not because when you have a problems in the first round with a one man team then get swept the next round, you're definitely in some trouble.

My condolences to Lakers fans.

Good news for top Laker assistants tho...they have a shot at taking over in a season and a half.

How do you know Shaw would be a decent coach for the Lakers? Have you ever seen him coach before? Has he ever been a head coach? What evidence do you have besides some experts giving a prediction? I'm pretty sure the Lakers brass would've hired him if he was as amazing as everyone is making him out to be. They do run an NBA team and all, I think they know a bit more than we do.

People were thinking that Shaw would be the next logical pick because he's familiar with the triangle and figured they would want to keep that going.

Didn't Pippen average ~20 pts?
