Casual use of terms like "gay" or "ghey" or other similar expressions, are mean-spiritied, thoughtless, hateful bigotry. The word, "gay" means happy. In commonly accepted slang, it also refers to homosexuality. Others with low self esteem issues and even lower intellectual abilities have extended their intended meaning of such terms to be generic negative and hostile adjectives assigned to any negative thing, person, or situation. Such usage has become far to common on our forums, and it stops, NOW.

AnandTech Forums is a very large. We have over 120,000 registered members from all over the world and from many social interests. Our forums are primarily computer oriented, and we have forums for discussion Hot Deals, Politics & News, and, of course, Off Topic. We want AT to remain a friendly place to gather to discuss whatever is appropriate in each of our forums. Casual, hateful name calling and word usage is contrary to that goal. It is not funny, it is not nice, it is not friendly, and it will not be tolerated on our forums. This includes such speech directed at any nationality, religion, or social group, including our members who happen to be gay.

If this bothers you, please find another forum to prove your stupidity. If you cannot stop doing so on your own, we will be glad to help you find your way off the forums.
