Biz as usual.

I wonder how many current and former high ranking Air Force officers work for Boeing. Or will be. :disgust:

I edit to add

I hope you don't mind CkG but I used a link to your thread to help prove a point about a claim I made here. :)

Do you mean Senator Daschle's wife is a Boeing exec?

Gee, what a surprise. Corruption on BOTH sides of the aisle. :Q

PS

I'll won't try to deny corruption or even the appearance of corruption on Daschle's part.

But please don't try to deny corruption with Cheney/Halliburton/Iraq.

I edit to add

Corn

You heard crickets chirping because I was busy for the last hour or so helping my daughter's sister-in-law research her purchase of a new laptop. :)

For the other thread ... but Cheney is no longer employed by Halliburton. He rid himself of the "conflict of interest" aspect in doing so - much harder to prove the link then.

You're an intelligent person. Do you really believe Cheney, who as Defense Secretary had KBR conduct the study that set policy for the US government, who then headed Halliburton during the years Halliburton positioned itself to take advantage of that same policy, who then becomes VP while still collecting deferred compensation from Halliburton, who then influences Bush administration policy along with his neo-con accomplices at the Pentagon to invade Iraq, which Halliburton and KBR are now making BILLIONS of dollars from, isn't corrupt because he "rid himself of the "conflict of interest" aspect in doing so"?

I'll admit it when there is even the appearance of corruption. There are some people who won't. Or will only when it's someone from other than their party.

Be honest. The Boeing deal is just a smaller version of the Halliburton KBR deal.

Our politicians are corrupt. What a surprise. The Boeing lease/purchase rip off is just another example of the corruption I referred to that Corn refused to admit , until now, existed.

As I've been told more than once here, in a court of law you can't prove it. But that's not the standard I use. If Daschle is guilty of the appearance of corruption then Cheney sure as hell is too. He moves between government and industry like a chameleon.

I heard many crickets chirping since I posted a reply to your NRO article.

I'm still hearing them.

Well, to be fair DM, she's nowhere near as dirty as Cheney. What's she stand to make off the Boeing deal? A few million? A couple billion?

Her deal doesn't cost American lives, kill innocent civilians, threaten world peace, or destroy our nation's credibility around the world. And in monetary terms it's small potatoes compared with Cheney.

don't you know the good ol' boy network runs this country and that all high ranking politicians are members? you'll sleep a lot better when you realize you really can't do anything to change it either.

We may not be able to change it EF but if I don't at least complain about it I won't be able to sleep at all. :)

Well, to me it's like this. Does KBR, Halliburton have to quit doing or not pursue Gov't contracts just because their former CEO is now an elected official? Cheney has every right to become the vice-president - just as Halliburton has every right to pursue the contract. The difference is that YOU think the Iraq was wasn't needed or right so you are trying to demonize all those that have any role in the matter(pre or post). Halliburton has a percentage clause - I believe 1%(IIRC) so they aren't charging WAY too much for their service. It like a T&M job with 1% profit built in. So if I'm following your illogic;) you are trying to say that because Cheney worked for Haliburton who has a govt contract - he started a war so they could make 1% profit? How many companies do you know that can survive with only making 1% profit? Sure they have incentives if they do a good job and keep costs low but Cheney doesn't get to decide these things. I still fail to see where this whole cheney thing fits in with the whole conspiracy thing. Cheney profits how? Haliburton profits extra because Cheney is in office how?
